Tan Sri Khalid has denied claims that the upscale Datum Jelatek development project, being carried out by the Selangor State Economic Development Corporation, PKNS in Keramat, Kuala Lumpur would sidelined the rights of the Malay community in the area.
He stressed that the 1.2 billion ringgit luxury condominium, built on Malay reserve land, would not deny the rights of the community and that the state government will ensure 50 per cent property ownership quota for Bumiputera is achieved.
He was commenting on allegations that two of the four blocks of the project has been purchased by foreign investors in bulk during a special four-day preview at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands last November.
Datum Jelatek, which is scheduled for completion in 2016 consists of four residential towers, four levels of retail podium and one level of office suites.
Promised to be built for the locals, the price offered for the residential units however was beyond the means of many prospective buyers as the lowest value estimated to be about 700 thousand ringgit.
This led to residents in the area to protest the developement and urging PKNS, which was once known for helping the poor in the state, to reconsider the project.

5. Andaikata dikira peratusan keluasaan lantai..unit bumiputra hanya merangkumi 25% dari keseluruhan projek darum jelatej yang mempunyi empat tingkat.
